Item Description

Nanisivik is best known for its gorgeous Pyrite specimens, but here we have a less commonly seen combination specimen featuring a 1.3 cm group of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, golden scalenohedral crystals of Calcite associated with soft golden colored metallic Pyrite crystals on rhombic Dolomite matrix. The Calcite group is undamaged. A nice association piece for any fan of pieces from Nanisivik or Canada in general. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11334). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
