Item Description

A classic example of the famous specimens of Caledonite from the Reward Mine. Some of the finest crystals of the species in the world have come from this locality. This specimen features a small patch of micro crystals of the beautiful hydrated lead copper carbonate sulfate, in the form of glowing rich electric blue, flattened, striated crystals measuring up to about 1 mm on matrix. We have photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate them. Please note, there are a few spots on the specimen of massive / uncrystallized Caledonite, the actual crystals are tucked down in a little vug on the narrow end of the specimen. There is also an unknown yellow mineral on the specimen that we could not identify (possibly Perite?).
