Item Description

A lot of people don't realize that Australia has produced some of the best Cassiterite crystals in the world, both from the standpoint of crystal quality and gemminess. This piece is remarkably reminiscent of the classic Cassiterites from the Viloco Mine in Bolivia as it is a fine quality, sharp, well-formed, lustrous, gemmy, rich golden-brown colored cyclic twin, free of matrix. There are some rough edges around the periphery, so it's not damage free, but it's still a very attractive piece of this classic, and now hard to find material. From the collection of Shields Flynn.
