Item Description

The Santa Eulalia District in Mexico is one of the more prolific specimen-producing areas in the entire country, yielding some of the most attractive and coveted secondary ore specimens over several decades. This piece is a RARELY seen Cerussite specimen featuring gorgeous, tiny, sharp, well-formed, white bladed crystals measuring to about 1-2 mm sitting on wonderful, almost "velvety" stalactitic Goethite matrix. We've only had a select few specimens of Cerussite from Santa Eulalia to offer over the years, and never one like this on such beautiful Goethite matrix. While the Cerussites are small, they look fantastic under magnification, and we've photographed them with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. A must-have piece for any fan of Cerussites, Mexican minerals or fans of Santa Eulalia material. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
