Item Description

It is VERY hard to find complete "sixlings" of Cerussite from the Tsumeb Mine, but all six of the spokes are present on this miniature! It is also fascinating that the level of development alternates on every other spoke, yet another example of a preferential growth. This sixling is translucent, with very attractive, varying luster, and spokes that are terminated! Focusing on the three largest spokes, you can appreciate the developing symmetry, and the aesthetic that it adds to the piece. This is a choice, representative example of this rare, sought-after habit, and it is from Tsumeb, the greatest mine of them all. Old Connklin label from the early 2000s valued this $1500. 161 grams From the collection of East Coast collector, George Elling, specializing in historic minerals of the East Coast and minerals from the development of old European mineralogy.
