Item Description

These dramatic Chalcopyrite-Chalcocite-Djurleite specimens were acquired by us in China in 2012 and 2013 and represented some of the most noted mineral discoveries in China at that time! These colorful, mounded, bubbly conglomerations are complex overgrowths and intergrowths of Djurleite and Chalcocite usually at the core of the clusters coated with Chalcopyrite. This mineralogical menagerie along with its mesmerizing iridescent blue and purple hues culminates in these artistic, very sculptural and almost ornamental pieces that are some of the most intriguing and beautiful mineralogical oddities found! A beautiful small cabinet piece! We have not released specimens in years, from our stash of this material, and finally pulled a few out of the old drawer to look at again. No more have been found since. These are unique in the world. Valued $1200-1500
