Item Description

From the famous Madan Ore Field - which has produced some of the finest crystallized specimens of various well-known sulfides in the world - here we have a lovely association specimen featuring good quality, sharp, brassy colored, well-formed, robust crystals of slightly iridescent Chalcopyrite measuring up to 2.8 cm across which are beautifully set atop silvery-grey colored cubic Galena and accented by gemmy, golden-green colored Sphalerite with minor Quartz crystals along the base. For the most part, the piece is in excellent condition (only minor roughness), and it's incredibly showy with the main Chalco just flaring off the top of the specimen. It displays beautifully from a few angles and really looks great in any light. Sulfides are wonderful species to collect because they can represent some of the finest crystallization in the mineral kingdom. Specimens from Madan are treasured by seasoned collectors who value such beautiful euhedral crystallized examples. Valued at $1,850 in the inventory.
