Item Description

Chlorapatite is VERY RARE from the well-known phosphate-rich pegmatites of the Linopolis area of Minas Gerais. This is an EXTREMELY RARE lightweight epimorph (hollow cast) of chlorapatite after a shapely, sharply terminated 360-degree childrenite crystal. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 6687 and acquired from Seward at the 1972 Anaheim Federation Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). A rare, very fine, perhaps unique chlorapatite after childrenite from Linopolis.
