Here we have a fantastic, very good sized, strong green color, nearly eye-clean "Pear Brilliant" cut gemstone of the famous Chrome Diopsides from Siberia. This material is rare on the gem market because there is only one place in the world that produces good gem material, and it has a shortened mining season due to the tremendous amount of annual snowfall, so there isn't a lot of time each year when good material can be mined. Additionally, even the clean stones weigh less than 1 carat, so most of them are on the smaller side. It is incredibly difficult to find this material in clean stones and inclusions are accepted by most collectors and dealers, so when you have a gem well over 2 carats like this with such excellent clarity, it's a big deal. A great example of this hard to find gem, with fantastic color.
