Item Description

A fine old Brazilian Chrysoberyl from the famous finds around 1940. Found by Allan Caplan in Espirito Santo State in southeastern Brazil, Chrysoberyls from here are the most classic examples of the species in the world, with the best developed crystals having some of the most recognized and celebrated "sixling" twins for Chrysoberyl extant. This miniature has an attractive yellow-green color, nice luster, and good gemminess around darker areas. It has begun the development of the famous cyclic twinning that these Chrysoberyls are so known for. 24 grams From the collection of East Coast collector, George Elling, specializing in historic minerals of the East Coast and minerals from the development of old European mineralogy.
