Item Description

A colorful and enticing miniature display specimen loaded with dozens of dark turquoise blue colored botryoidal spheres of Chrysocolla sitting atop a layer of minor Malachite on black Tenorite matrix. The luster of the Chrysocolla "balls" ranges from "wet"-looking and resinous to a soft matte luster. The piece is crystallized on all sides and looks beautiful from multiple directions. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
