Item Description

Prochlorite is a synonym of Clinochlore, a Chlorite Group varietal with considerable Fe2. The Goscheneralp is famed for superlative pink fluorite and smoky quartz specimens. However, pseudomorphs of clinochlore after sharp fluorite octahedrons are EXTREMELY RARE! This impressive and sculptural two sided rib is composed of a striking intergrown jumble of sparkly green clinochlore after sharp fluorite octahedrons, to 7 mm. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 6410 and acquired from Pala Properties at Ventura in 1971. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). An extremely rare, perhaps UNIQUE rich Swiss pseudo from the Goscheneralp. A MUST for the pseudomorph, species or locality collector.
