Shapely and desirable old-time copper and silver from Copper Country. Called "halfbreeds", this sculptural rounded piece looks like a "foot" with ankle. Silver is confined to the "toe" and "sole" of one side of the mostly massive copper specimen. Areas of dark green malachite and olive-green epidote are a typical and excellent contrast. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5454 and acquired from the Shale's in the late 1960s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Rich and hefty silver and copper ore at 166 grams mass. A classic halfbreed nugget.
