Coral along with such things as Bone, Pearl and Amber is one of the few organic gems in the world. These stones are cut and polished to bring out their rich color as they often have a very dull matte luster when they are found. This "oval" cabochon cut gem is a rich orange-red color stone with excellent consistency of color, and no cracks or crazing. Minor white streaks can be seen on the reverse side of the stone. Please note that this stone has most likely been stabilized to help maintain its glowing warm hue, which is a common and completely accepted practice in the gem world. A beautiful stone for any collector.
