Most people don't realize that perhaps the largest and finest big USA Covellites have actually been found in Summitville, Colorado. If you visit The Colorado School of Mines Museum, they have a Covellite specimen on display with individual crystals that measure an astounding 5-6 inches across. This nice, small cabinet specimen of Covellite features bladed crystals with the distinctive and classic gold, purple, and blue iridescence. There is even some sharp red coloration that is eye-popping, and the bright, lustrous Chalcopyrite adds even more to the aesthetics. Covellite from this mining district has always been noteworthy for the species. Though slightly worn, which is not atypical of these, I think this a good, showy display miniature for this famous locality. valued $750
