Item Description

Sculptural, stout, flattened, densely intergrown, two-sided floater crystallized copper with a nice patina. The artistic sturdy piece has an aesthetic arborescent/dendritic form. The many branching "limbs" are composed of spinel-twinned crystals with a myriad of sharp tetrahexahedral crystals attached to the spinel-twins adds dramatic quality. Both sides look great on this excellent piece from a recent limited 2021 find at this super large Chinese Cu-Mo-Au deposit. Copper of this style compares favorably with classics from Michigan, Bisbee, Namibia or Kazakhstan. A very fine small cabinet with dense crystallization.
