Item Description

A surreal, fantasy biomorphic flattened floater well-crystallized copper from the famous Ray Mine. The sculptural piece is a dragon with long thin downturned neck and small head with a frill on top. The short legs and feet support a very bulky body, insanely stubby wings on top and a dramatic broad fan-shaped tail. The fine coppery patina accents the overall spinel-twinned form, which included both spinel-twins and sharp to subhedral tetrahexahedrons. An outstanding and otherworldly artistic crystallized copper from Ray. Valued at $2000-plus for the special shape and the classic natural patina of colors.
