An impressive large old-time crystallized copper from the famous Copper Queen Mine at Bisbee. Lustrous, sharp tetrahexahedrons with a beautiful variable patina cover this very sculptural 3-dimensional specimen. The large perched "wall" of copper set on top of the sturdy piece is really dramatic. The Copper Queen was the original copper mine of the renowned district, first producing in 1881. See the 1981 Mineralogical Record Arizona-III Special Issue, Vol. 12, No. 5. Formerly in the Cunningham Collection. Ex Mullane Bisbee Collection, noted Bisbee specialists. The piece undoubtedly dates to prior to World War II, and may date to prior to World War I. Copper tetrahexahedrons are rare from the Copper Queen Mine, as most crystallized coppers are composed of spinel-twins.
