Datolite is a signature species from the well-known Bor Pit at Dalnegorsk (which has borate and metallic mines, all mixed together in one area!), and this is an impressive small cabinet combination. A striking, 4.3 cm, gemmy, very glassy, pretty mint-green datolite monolith with a steep offset termination dramatically rests atop the mounded matrix of datolite with a couple of highly unusual interrupted growth gemmy quartz points on one lower side. The crystal is complete all-around and pristine. Ex Hefendehl Collection. This is a classic style of Bor Pit datolite from the 1990s or early 2000s era here. Choice material from the 1980s and 1990s.
