Dioptase on Calcite

This is a stunning small cabinet specimen of the revered classic Tsumeb combination of colors: emerald-green Dioptase with crystals of it gracing numerous gemmy rhombs of white Calcite from Tsumeb! It's quite a unique piece with a sprinkling of unusually isolated Dioptase crystals scattered about relatively large rhombs of translucent to transparent Calcite from 4 to 6 mm. The Dioptase crystals are all quite luminous with their rich emerald green color and the smaller ones are gemmy and transparent! The Dioptase crystals vary in size from from 1 mm to 1 cm and occur as loners or in loosely clustered groups with all of them showing off very well against the scintillating, translucent white Calcite. An exceptional cabinet Dioptase and Calcite combo from Tsumeb! These tend to be valued quite highly, as they are literally the classic style from here...and date to the 1970s-early 1980s.
