Doubly-Terminated gem Tourmaline (old USA classic) ex Reynolds

A classic, large, old-time bi-colored gem tourmaline from the famed Himalaya Mine - and terminated on both ends! About one-half of this striking, limpid, glassy, well-striated trigonal crystal with satin lustre faces is classic "Himalaya pink". The other half has subtle and unusual olive-green overtones, that adds much character, color and contrast. The doubly terminated crystal has decidedly different terminations. The matte lustre pinacoidal pink termination is highlighted by an interesting etched side. The basal termination is rehealed and also has interesting etching. This complete all-around and pristine large Himalaya tourmaline is characteristic of material from 1960s to 1980s finds. The green dispersion at one end of the pink crystal is a fascinating and uncommon highlight to this very fine older gem tourmaline. Mass is 59 grams. MUCH, MUCH better in person.
