Item Description

An adorable matrix thumbnail spray of this rare Ba-Ca carbonate from the Co-type Locality. Striking intergrown doubly terminated spires of translucent colorless crystals with satin lustre faces are very aesthetically set on the matrix plate with underlying pyrite. The crystals reach 1.8 cm, LARGE for the rare species and locale. Patches of snow-white witherite are a fine and typical complement. This historic old lead, then zinc mine operated until 1936. Choice and excellent material from the Dr. Stephen Moreton Collection and collected in 1992 to 1994.
