Item Description

RARE and interesting small cabinet combination from the world's largest known emerald deposit - the Carnaíba mining district, where giant monster pieces come out time to time and get carved or cut up into pieces. The sculptural mounded matrix hosts deep green, translucent, waxy luster emeralds and scattered sections of greasy-feel, splendent metallic-gray molybdenite crystals. The dominating emerald section is 3.8 cm long. The crystals are damaged, not complete - but it is the association that is so interesting. Carnaiba produces non-gem emerald, desired by cutters and collectors. Ex Taylor Hunt Collection. A highly representative and rare emerald and molybdenite combination from the locale.
