Item Description

Epidote and quartz combinations of this richness are RARE from this less well-known skarn deposit in Death Valley National Park, Inyo County, California. Scintillating, translucent, sharp olive-green epidote crystals, to about 7 mm, and crystal sections compose most of the sculptural, large two-sided piece. Quartz crystal sections are a typical association on both sides. The Bird Springs Garnet claim is better known for uncommon and outstanding Japan-law twin quartz specimens. Ex Bob Reynolds Collection. A rich, excellent and rare epidote and quartz combination from the locale.
