Epidote with Quartz (classic material) (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

Arguably the most famous Epidote locality in North America is Green Monster Mountain in Alaska. This attractive miniature display specimen host several good quality very sharp, rather lustrous, rich green colored, prismatic crystals of Epidote measuring up to 1.3 cm aesthetically intergrown with white / colorless prismatic Quartz crystals to create a showy overall piece. The specimen displays beautifully on its own without a base or clay. Very good condition all around, but there are a few small contacts, so it's not completely damage free. A good quality and eye-catching association specimen of this famous classic material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10435). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
