Item Description

Mesmerizing multi-hued banded malachite "eyes" on this dramatic sculptural, strikingly vuggy polished botryoidal nodule from the famous Lavender Pit at Bisbee. Specimens of this rough quality are rare, mostly having gone to carving material and lapidary uses already. And attributable to the Holbrook Extension of the Lavender Pit - particularly rare. The extension was started in 1968, it mined out several of the earlier underground mines including both Holbrook shafts Comes with a label from respected Arizona specialist, author and dealer, Les Presmyk. Mass is 177 grams. Value ???
