Several years ago, there was a surge in the price of Fire Opal as fine quality material seems to be more and more difficult to obtain, especially in a vivid stone like this one. This gem has a beautiful, saturated reddish-orange color with an "Emerald Brilliant" cut. When you backlight the stone you can see there are some "wispy" internal formations in one corner, and the rest of the gem features that gorgeous lovely "jelly" apearance that you expect to find in the best stones. Great color and quality, and not nearly as common on the market now as they were 20+ years ago.
