Item Description

Dramatic, sculptural, complete all-around cluster of doubly terminated parallel-growth dravite tourmaline crystals. The sharp jet-black crystals are highly lustrous and the embedded chlorite schist is a nice complement and contrast. The locality is well-known for these dravite crystals in black and shades of brown, but the small occurrence is now extinct. Essentially pristine, with only trivial side wear. This is nearly a kilo in mass, 900 grams - or jsut about 2 pounds weight! Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 2001. An excellent and architectural 360-degree example from the locale.
