Item Description

This is a nice pair of stacked, lustrous, gemmy to translucent, variegated green Fluorapatite crystals from the tungsten-tin mines of Panasqueira, Portugal. Each of the sharp, hexagonal crystals measure 3 cm across and are well-formed with darker green, translucent zoning in the center with a 3 mm or so outer, more transparent and brighter green zone. The flat pinacoid and side prism faces of the crystals are super lustrous and in excellent condition. It is in fact almost a floater, only with the bottom crystal showing some contacting patterns on one side and the back from what was adjacent Fluorapatite crystal growth, but is not damage. A fine duo of crystals from this mine that has produced some of the best Fluorapatite crystals in the world. A highly displayable classic!
