Item Description

Fluorapatite is remarkably rare from the Cryo-Genie Mine, better known for beautiful tourmaline, beryl and smoky quartz specimens. Glassy, translucent, bi-colored, textbook tabular hexagonal crystals, to 1.9 cm, with bright vitreous lustre are aesthetically clustered atop the sculptural mounded miniature matrix of very glassy cleavelandite blades. Classic yellow SW UV fluorescence. Formerly in the Curtis Wilbur Collection. Ex Bill Larson San Diego County Pegmatite Collection and long on display at his Pala International shop in Fallbrook. A RARE and excellent apatite combination from the locale and a fine accompaniment to the previous Kunzite crystal.
