Item Description

A 4.5 cm sharply terminated fluorapatite crystal at the crest dramatically dominates this rare impressive large cluster of intergrown crystals from Bahia State. The lustrous, partially translucent, textbook hexagonal prisms are a striking vivid deep blue. The 6.0 cm doubly terminated crystal in the center is contacted, but has no damage. The beautiful shocking blue color and translucence are better seen, when the crystals are back lit. Ex Kurt Hefendehl Collection. Most apatites from here are single crystals, making this an outstanding and rare cluster of solid apatite highlighted by sharp crystals.
