Item Description

Excellent fluorite specimens are very uncommon from this old tin-tungsten-precious metal-polymetallic and later during the Soviet era uranium mining district in the Czech portion of the historic Erzgebirge. Glassy, lustrous, transparent to translucent, yellow-green cubes, to 1.1 cm, with cloudy white interiors and preferential red iron oxide-tinted edge phantoms are richly and attractively clustered atop the blocky small cabinet matrix. Probably old-time material, but no proof. Moderate purple fluorescence. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1992. Classic, rare and rich fluorite from Schlaggenwald.
