Item Description

Here we have a wonderful, fine quality, big, three-dimensional display specimen of Fluorite from Berbes featuring several sharp, lustrous gemmy cubes with very thin dodecahedral modifications on the edges measuring up to 4.5 cm on edge sitting on drusy Quartz matrix. When the crystals are backlit, the color really comes through showing rich a mix of rich purple, lilac and even pale yellow hues. Obviously Berbes Fluorite are well known for their distinctive internal "phantoms" inside nearly every crystal, and you can clearly see them on this specimen with a bit of backlighting. One rarely sees such large and aesthetic cabinet sized like this from Berbes anymore on the market. The main crystal on this piece is undamaged on the display side, even the small imperfection on the corner is not broken as I can see "healed" / recrystallized faces. The smaller crystals are in good shape, but you can see small spots of either incomplete growth or separation marks where another crystal once grew. The back of the piece is contacted where it was removed from the pocket wall. Very showy and good quality all around. The best Fluorites from Berbes can be ranked among the finest quality Fluorites in the world. Priced at $4,000 retail for size, aesthetics, quality, gemminess and color.
