Item Description

Gorgeous, gemmy, intensely purple, grape-like Fluorite cuboctahedrons - with the largest composite group measuring 4.2 cm across are richly and aesthetically scattered on a thick hefty mound of banded and etched Quartz from a discovery over 10 years ago at the De’an Mine in China. The Fluorite crystal faces actually have a slight curve to them, which is not terribly common for this material. On the surface, the color is a dark purple hue, but when backlit, the color has a slight pinkish tinge to it under halogen light, while LED lights show more of a blue tone. A superb specimen for the size, given the coverage and quality of the grape-juice-colored crystals. Virtually no damage of note, outside of the periphery / base where it was removed from the pocket. PLEASE NOTE: This specimen is heavy, weighing in at 2.4 kilos (5.4 pounds), and it will require an additional shipping charge, so please keep this in mind when bidding. Valued in our inventory at $3,500.
