Fluorite (GEM crystals!)

As is the case with many Chinese localities, the famous Yaogangxian Mine has given collectors superb quality Fluorite specimens. This piece came out in the early 2000s), and is a superb example of these world-classic Fluorites. This beautiful display specimen is an excellent composite group of sharp, well-formed, multi-color (blue, purple and a small amount of green) "phantom" cubes of Fluorite with WATER CLEAR internal clarity! When the piece is rotated in the light, you can see straight through to the other side. It's NOT common to find Fluorite crystal groups of this size with such superb clarity like this from Yaogangxian. The topmost portion of the specimen features small compressed white "discs" of Calcite with minor accenting golden metallic Pyrite. I can't find any real damage on the display side, but the piece is contacted on the back where it was separated from the pocket wall. You would be hard-pressed to find another Fluorite of this size and quality from Yaogangxian on the market for sale, and it's certainly a must have for any fan of Chinese minerals or worldwide Fluorites. These pieces are certainly now considered classics, and will go down as some of the most impressive Fluorite specimens from any world locality. Priced at $3,500 in our inventory.
