Item Description

A classic Weardale (Stanhope) Fluorite specimen featuring textbook penetration twinning on a cube diagonal axis. The crystal has gorgeous green hue in indoor lighting with wonderful internal gemminess. In sunlight, a bit of purple daylight fluorescence can be seen as well. Most of the crystals faces are sharp, lustrous and pristine, but the piece is contacted on the back/lower edges where it was separated from the matrix. From the collection of Shields Flynn.
