Item Description

A beautiful association specimen featuring sharp, well-formed, gemmy, purple colored crystals with a beautiful combination of cubic, octahedral and dodecahedral modifications which are sitting on a blocky white rhomb of Calcite matrix. Nearly all of the Fluorites are pristine, save a few outliers on the periphery, but the piece is in tremendous shape overall. The largest Fluorite measures 2.1 cm across. If you look closely, you'll see that the cubic and dodecahedral faces on the crystals have a much stronger purple hue than the octahedral faces, creating a beautiful "striped" effect. It was incredibly difficult to convey the quality of the crystals in the photographs or video, but they are BETTER IN PERSON. The majority of the Fluorites are actually WATER CLEAR when backlit, but you can't really tell until you see the piece in person. if you collect Fluorites or minerals of China, you can't afford to miss out on this top quality specimen from a find dating back about 10 years ago. Valued at $4,000 for the fine quality and excellent color. Ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection.
