Item Description

Fine fluorite specimens are RARE from this famous extinct underground uranium mine, closed since 1982. Vivid, gemmy emerald-green octahedrons are festooned in the frontal vug of the sawed blocky small cabinet matrix on this rich and excellent example. Bright purple fluorescence. The mine is famous for highly unusual calcite with hematite specimens. Formerly in the Edwin Terres Collection of New Jersey. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1992. Although small crystals, they are really beautiful and this is one of those old mineral classics you just do not see around anymore.
