Fluorite (RARE for Brazil)

Of the multitude of species found in the various pegmatites in Brazil, Fluorite is oddly absent. While Fluorite is not unheard of from other pegmatite localities around the world, we see very little from anywhere in Brazil, which is remarkable as the country represents nearly 50% of all land in South America. Recently there was a discovery of well-crystallized Fluorites as the lesser known Castelo Pegmatite in Espirito Santo. This attractive miniature features razor-sharp, soft sea-green colored cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 2.0 cm on edge, sitting atop beige-white colored Feldspar matrix. The Fluorites have alternating luster on select faces, which ranges from and almost "wet" appearance to notably matte and dull. No major damage that I can see with the naked eye. If you collect worldwide Fluorites, pegmatite minerals of species from Brazil, this is a MUST HAVE specimen as they are almost never seen on the market.
