Fluorite (rare locality) (ex Chet Lemanski Collection)

Item Description

This is a hard to find specimen from the lesser-known Belorechensk Deposit (formerly known as Belaya Rechka) featuring sharp, well-formed, lustrous, gemmy, soft golden colored cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 8 mm associated with scattered crystals of silvery-grey Galena and dark brownish-black Sphalerite on Quartz matrix. The piece is in great shape, with little damage outside of the periphery where it was removed from the pocket wall. The Fluorite crystals are super glassy, but it's difficult to reproduce their glistening luster in photos/video. If you collect worldwide Fluorites, don't miss out on this one, as I'm sure a lot of you don't have a piece from this locality. From the collection of Chester ("Chet") S. He worked briefly as a drill runner at the famous Sterling Mine, in Ogdensburg, New Jersey and from 1987 to 1990 he helped convert the mine into a public access mining museum. He has held the role of treasurer, vice president and president of the Franklin-Ogdensburg Mineralogical Society (FOMS), and has been a board member and vice president of the Franklin Mineral Museum. The rare copper arsenate, Lemanskiite was named in his honor in 1999.
