Item Description

An OLD-TIME, unusual, fanciful large two-sided combination from the famous Minerva No. 1 Mine. Tiny dogtooth calcite spikes are festooned on both sides of the piece. Intergrown, classic, glassy, transparent to translucent, golden-amber fluorite cubes with pretty lavender highlights accented with black bitumen inclusions are the matrix. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 2001. According to Chet's catalogue, the piece was in the B.E. Clement Collection and was formerly in the Dr. Eugene Sensel Collection. Sensel purchased the piece for $2.25 in 1958. An old-time, fascinating, strange looking large fluorite combination from the noted locale.
