Item Description

A classic specimen of Fluorite from Clay Center hosting a predominant, lustrous, sharp, gemmy cubic "phantom" crystal exhibiting a classic golden color in the center and soft hues along the exterior edges measuring 3.1 cm sitting among smaller accenting Fluorites atop bladed white crystals of Celestine. Superb quality, and nearly every crystal is undamaged and beautiful to view from every side. Like most from the locality, this piece is also fluorescent, showing a blue-white color in areas under UV. The exteriors fluoresce a bit more than the centers. Great three-dimensional form and appeal, and very eye-catching in person. Priced at $1,200 originally in our inventory. From the worldwide collection of Tom Campbell. Tom is a mineralogist and mineral collect who works with us here at The Arkenstone. He has over 35 years of experience in the fields of exploration geology, mining, and applied mineralogy, and has even more years under his belt as a collector! Tom has described many new species over the years, and discovered the rare phosphates Tiptopite, Fransoletite and Pahasapaite. Tom was also a co-author on the second edition of the Encyclopedia of Minerals. You can see a list of Tom's published works here ( https://www.irocks.com/thomas-j-campbell-publications-list ).
