Fossil Clam with Calcite (fluorescent)

Item Description

This is a large, and quite fine, example from the fascinating Ruck's Pit discovery in Florida. Gemmy Calcite crystals grew in the natural pockets formed by buried fossil clamshells. The interior of this large shell is now completely lined with these luminous, golden crystals. Ranging up to 1.2 cm, the silky luster and gemminess enhance the beauty, and the pearly-white fluorescence adds yet another dimension to the quality. Open from different angles, the view of the crystals is excellent, and you can really appreciate the quality of the Calcites. The one dominant cluster of Calcites is exceptional.
