Franklinite, Calcite, and Willemite - old classic

A superb example of classic early to mid-1900s Franklinite crystals, with really sharp crystals to 1.7 cm (on frontal edge) exposed from a classic matrix of calcite (white) and willemite (brown). This is an unusually aesthetic exmaple, not lumpy like so many. The crystal atop is razor sharp, without the rubs and curving edge wear so typical of this material, making it a superb display piece. Also, some old Franklinites are "touched up" with shoe polish, glue, and rock crumbs to make them sharper or more lustrous. This, is natural and perfect. As a bonus, the matrix of course fluoresces strongly under UV light, bright red and green.
