Galena - rare locale (Burnett & Williams Coll.)

A rare locality specimen of Galena crystals from one of the old silvermining districts in Colorado, now a mix of ghost towns and resort towns for modern travelers. At one time, this mining area produced gold, silver, lead, in abundance, and few enough specimens were saved. This is historical, and beautiful. It is from the collection of W. Payne (1961) to Colorado collector Lee Burnett (with label), then to the Keith Williams personal collection (Keith is a retired dealer, known for his taste in aesthetic miniatures, USA classics, and Colorado material. He was one of the first to bring out Bulgarian material in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and a dealer for perhaps 50 years. ) Remember when looking at this, it is not some modern, common deposit, but one fo the most historic locations for mining in America.
