A beautiful and classic limpid gem indicolite tourmaline from circa 2010 finds at the famed Pederneira Mine. The classic, very glassy, highly lustrous, well-striated trigonal crystal with a beautiful teal-blue body has an interesting 3 mm gemmy teal-green modified termination with both glassy and matte lustre faces. Technically doubly terminated, as the other end is rehealed. Complete all-around and in good shape with very negligible internal layering. A contact on one face and part another just below the termination, where another crystal once lay, has no damage, per se. The one clean repair in this area of the crystal is certainly acceptable in the context of pegmatite species. The broken tip of the lower side car is also noted. VERY difficult to photograph correctly with the gemminess, glassiness, high lustre and striations. MUCH better in person! 14 grams mass. A fine and classic gem Pederneira indicolite.
