Gem purple-cap Indicolite Tourmaline (59.29 carats)

Two tiny indicolite tourmalines are embedded in the matte purple termination of this beautiful solid gem indicolite tourmaline from the circa 2010 finds at the famous Pederneira Mine. The layered trigonal crystal has very high glassy lustre with well-striated prism faces. Two of the three prism faces are glass-clear with the third dusted with tiny micro tourmalines. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. The one very clean repair about a third of the way down the crystal is barely noticeable and is certainly acceptable in the context of pegmatite species. A trivial bit of termination edge wear is certainly only a modest detraction. A classic, richly colored gem indicolite from the Pederneira. 59.29 carats or nearly 12 grams mass. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!! The extreme gemminess and glassiness made photography difficult.
