Gorgeous rich cherry-red color on this stunning 2.5 x 2.3 cm, very glassy, transparent to translucent sharply terminated tapered rhodonite crystal from this well known locale, famous for some of the world's best rhodonites. Two edges are super sharp on this amazing crystal. The crystal beautifully rests on more rhodonite and is dramatically accented with patches of VERY RARE (for the locality) association with chalcedony. Chalcedony is listed for the locale by MINDAT, but there are NO photos in the gallery. The end views show the striking thin tabular form of this exquisite gemmy beauty as it merging into the underlying rhodonite on one end. The piece displays beautifully without aid and is one of the finest matrix rhodonites in this size range, made even better with the rare chalcedony, from the locale. Valued at $2400.
