Diverging sprays of splendent metallic goethite blades form and attractive and sculptural two-sided small cabinet from the famous Crystal Peak area of Colorado. Scattered patches of contrasting iron oxides add character. A cute bonus is the 7 mm, doubly terminated, glassy smoky quartz crystal, that is partially hidden on a rear bladed goethite spray. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5392 and acquired from the Lidstrom's at the 1968 Federation Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). Classic Pikes Peak area goethite.
