Item Description

A CLASSIC and OLD-TIME gold specimen from historic Verespatak (Rosia Montana), Romania. Lustrous gold leaves, in aesthetic arborescent form, have DISTINCTIVE rich, mellow yellow color and crenellated form, that is unique to Rosia Montana. The leaves aesthetically and richly cover contrasting matrix covered with micro quartz crystals. Excellent material for a mine, that was worked by the Romans. This is undoubtably old material probably from the 1800s, as it is accompanied by two, old labels in German, one on the back of the specimen. Good rich specimens usually go for thousands of dollars
